The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is a partnership
that works with governments, donors, NGOs, the private sector, and
African farmers to significantly and sustainably improve the
productivity and income of resource-poor farmers in Africa.
Founded and initially funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, AGRA supports interventions aimed at improving seed systems, soil fertility, input and output markets, policies, and other priority sectors, with the overall objective of reducing food insecurity.

AGRA is seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to fill the position of Knowledge Management Assistant.
This position will report to the Knowledge Management Officer and be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in customizing and packaging information and data into compelling stories aligned to stakeholder needs
Supporting the Knowledge Management Officer in developing and disseminating regular publications and white papers on topics of interest in the agriculture sector
Supporting other units, such as Programs and M&E, to periodically populate information into the Knowledge Management System and website
Conducting primary sector research using sector resources, the AGRA library, and the internet to support AGRA Teams as needed
Working with the IT group to design and create a Knowledge Management System to consolidate AGRA’s knowledge
Setting up a Knowledge Management portal on AGRA’s website and managing population, maintenance, accessibility and updates of the content and products including databases, newsletters, lists, websites, white papers, success stories, demonstrated models etc.
Assisting the Knowledge Management Officer in conducting Knowledge Management training activities for all AGRA Country, Unit, and Program Teams
Supporting the promotion of knowledge-sharing in the organization and facilitating seamless exchange of information with both internal and external parties
Supporting the Knowledge Management team
Providing help desk and advisory services and intra/internet portal support

Key Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, information management, media and communications, journalism, project management, social sciences, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience
- Experience in information aggregation and research using multiple platforms and sources
- Knowledge of establishing and managing information management systems
- Proficiency in the use of standard computer software applications
- Results-orientation, professional, accountable, and proactive
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with multi-disciplinary teams in diverse cultural contexts and drive action for collective success
- Ability to understand client needs and customize information and services to best suit them
- Openness to new ideas and to different ways of aggregating, storing, packaging, and disseminating information
- Strong written communication skills
