The Company invites applications from qualified persons for the position of:- Safety Officer
 
Duties:
 
Interprets and evaluates the Company’s compliance with applicable safety rules.
Develop, recommend, and implement policy on health/safety protection; develops accident prevention and loss control systems and programs and ensures implementation throughout the Company.
  Reviews safety procedures for new and existing company projects to ensure compliance with fire, health, and safety rules and carries through completion.
Monitor safety inspection programs, evaluates program maintenance and determines priority of current workplace hazard correction.
Maintains relationship with DoSHS regulatory agency representatives to remain current on changing standards and interpretations and to serve as contact person for the Company.
Develops and implements health/safety induction or activities to improve awareness of safety and protection procedures.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of occupational safety.
Knowledge of OSHA 2007, and the subsidiary legislations governing safety procedures and policies.
Skill in developing safety policies.
Skill in investigating and analysing accidents and their causes.


Minimum Qualifications:
A Diploma in Engineering, Biological sciences or related field AND at least three years’ experience in safety, fire prevention, environmental health, industrial hygiene or related field, with a valid driving licence.
OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Must be 25 – 35 years of age
