Announcement of Vacancies
1. Position: Chairperson
2. Position: Member (8 Positions)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following positions in the National Education Board.
A. Requirements for Appointment
1. Chairperson of the Board
A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson of the Board if such person:-
(a) holds a degree in education from a university recognized in Kenya;
(b) has knowledge and at least fifteen years experience in matters relating to education;
(c) has had a distinguished career in their respective fields; and
(d) meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
2. Member of the Board
A Person shall be qualified for appointment as a member of the Board if such person –
(a) holds a degree from a recognized university;
(b) has knowledge and at least ten years experience in matters relating to any of the following fields:
(i) education;
(ii) management;
(iii) finance;
(iv) governance;
(v) human rights;
(vi) public administration;
(vii) law;
(viii) economics; and
(ix) meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
(c) has had a distinguished career in their respective fields; and
(d) meets the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
3. A person shall not be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson or a member of the Board if such Person: -
(a) is a member of Parliament or a county assembly,
(b) is a member of a local authority;
(c) is an undischarged bankrupt; or
(d) has been removed from office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other written law.
B. Duration of Appointment Chairperson
The Chairperson shall serve for a term of Four Years and shall be
eligible for re-appointment for one further term of four years.
Member: A member shall serve for a term of three years and shall be
eligible for re-appointment for one further term of three years.
C. Terms of Service
(i) Part Time
(ii) The Chairperson and Members of the Board shall be paid such
remuneration, fees, allowances and disbursements as may be approved by
the Cabinet Secretary in consultation with the Salaries and Remuneration
Commission.

The Ethics and anti-Corruption Commission
Criminal Investigations Department
Any of the Credit Reference Bureaus in the Country
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
A record of Achievement in previous pursuits

Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County
Government Act No. 17 of 2012, the County Government of Kakamega invites
applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following
vacant positions:
Position: Sub-County Administrators (12 Posts)
Job Group ‘Q’
Duties and responsibilities
The sub-county administrator shall be responsible for the coordination, management and supervision of the general administrative functions in the sub-county unit, and will be answerable to the Chief Officer, Public Service and Administration.
Duties will include:
The development of policies and plans;
Coordinating developmental activities to empower the community;
The provision and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities of public services;
Exercise any functions and powers delegated by the County Public Service Board under section 86 of The County Government Act, 2012;
Facilitation and coordination of citizen participation in the development of policies and delivery of services
Coordinating the management and supervision of general administrative functions
Ensuring effective service delivery;
Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Performing any other functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
Be a Kenyan citizen,
Be a holder of a bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya,
Have working experience of not less than 10 years,
Have qualifications and experience in administration or management,
Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Be computer literate.
Remuneration
Salary: Kshs.89,748 – Kshs.120,270 p.m.
House allowance: Kshs. 20,000 p.m.
Other allowances: Kshs. 14,000 p.m.

The administration of a county ministry.
Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals.
Development and Implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
Implementation of Policies and regulations.
Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.
Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
Be a Kenya citizen.
Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, five of which should be in a managerial position,
Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objectives and Vision 2030,
Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines.
Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Be computer literate.

Salary: Kshs.120, 270- Kshs.180,660 p.m.
