Our client, the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), a well established NGO offering rehabilitation and habilitation services to persons with disabilities wishes to fill these two vacancies in their Mombasa Branch.

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare and maintain monthly cash flow projections for the period for which funding is available, prepare and maintain up-to date accounting systems for the branch, ensuring that all transactions are duly recorded.

He/she will also be required to prepare financial reports for APDK and for individual donors. Applicants should hold a degree in Commerce or related field, be fully qualified CPA (K).

KIPPRA Finance Careers Kenya

Position: Finance and Investments Manager.
 
The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) is a public Institute established in 1997 to support public policy by contributing to the formulation of medium and long-term strategic perspectives for development of the country as well as developing the required human and institutional capacities by undertaking economic forecasting, policy analysis and research, and through capacity building for the achievement of national development goals.


It is governed by the KIPPRA Act No. 15 of 2006.

The Institute is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

Finance and Investments Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance & Investments Manager will be responsible for all aspects of financial control and reporting by providing appropriate financial advice and undertaking related financial administration and management.
Grade: KIP 3
Division: Finance & Investment
Supervisor: Executive Director
Supervisory Responsibilities: Accountant, Assistant Accountant


Key Responsibilities
Oversees all Finance functions including those necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset and property management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, financial policies and procedures, and all other applicable rules and guidelines.
Providing financial management advise to KIPPRA board and management;
Monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting KIPPRA’s financial performance evaluation reports and making recommendations to management on policy changes
Prudent management of finance, and physical assets of the organization; preparing monthly/quarterly financial projection, statements and budgets; exercising expenditure controls of the organization;
Supervising accounting activities; updating management reports; monitoring and evaluating implementation of the statutory mandate; and
Working in close consultation with Executive Director on all financial management issues.


Qualifications & Attributes
A Masters degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant CPA (K). Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years three (3) of which must be in a Finance/Accounting managerial role.
Experience in donor fund accounting desirable.
Accounting Softwares: Working knowledge of accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
Ability to write clear and concise reports.

Duties and responsibilities
The Chief Officer shall be the authorized officer in a specific ministry and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Member.


Duties will include:
The administration of a county ministry.
Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals.
Development and Implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
Implementation of Policies and regulations.
Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.
Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Requirements:
Be a Kenya citizen.
Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, five of which should be in a managerial position,
Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objectives and Vision 2030,
Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines.
Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Be computer literate.

Remuneration
Salary: Kshs.120, 270- Kshs.180,660 p.m.
House allowance: Kshs.56, 000 p.m.
Other Allowances: Kshs20, 000 p.m

Duties and Responsibilities:
