Country Manager Jobs Vacancies Kenya

A well established Global company wishes to recruit a Country Manager for its Agricultural Businesses.
 
The incumbent will report to the Country Managing Director, and will be in charge of the Agricultural Services Division as well as the Agricultural Laboratories within Kenya

Key Responsibilities
Accountable for meeting Business budget revenues and profitability forecasts
Responsible for all divisional operations and high degree of execution
    Responsible for mentoring, developing, training and effectively utilizing all human resource
Responsible for building and maintaining a single cohesive and motivated team focused on client service and satisfaction, with high level of collaboration between technical groups
Contribute ideas and support to global Agricultural Services structures within the group
Responsible for pricing policies in conjunction with the executive management team
Drive local market and service strategy
Develop budgets for specific projects and new services
Development and implementation of operational tools and guidelines
Adhere to the groups quality and safety requirements
Perform other assignments as assigned


Specific Authorities
Accountability for all activities within the Agricultural Division
Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard
Cease to carry out any work that may compromise the quality and integrity of work
Initiate formal improvement requests for non conformities


Education
Technical or equivalent qualification
Business qualification


Experience
Must have technical product knowledge
Global and regional knowledge of Agricultural market segments
Sound financial acumen
Up to date on latest methodology/technology

Position: County Chief Officers (13 Posts)
  Job Group ‘S’
The 13 posts are in the following Ministries:
County Treasury and Economic Planning (2)
i) Finance
ii) Planning

Education, Science and Technology, and ICT. Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Co-operatives (3) Agriculture and Co-operatives Fisheries Development Livestock Development Health Services Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning. Public Service and Administration Transport & Infrastructure Labour, Social Services, Culture, Youth and Sports. Environment, Natural Resources, Energy, Water and Forestry. Industrialization, Trade and Tourism.
 
Duties and responsibilities
The Chief Officer shall be the authorized officer in a specific ministry and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Member.


Duties will include:
The administration of a county ministry.
Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals.
Development and Implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
Implementation of Policies and regulations.
Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.
Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Requirements:
Be a Kenya citizen.
Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, five of which should be in a managerial position,
Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objectives and Vision 2030,
Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines.
Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Be computer literate.

Remuneration
Salary: Kshs.120, 270- Kshs.180,660 p.m.
House allowance: Kshs.56, 000 p.m.
Other Allowances: Kshs20, 000 p.m


Terms of service: Contract.

Job Summary
The holder will be responsible for developing and managing agribusiness related activities and value chains for the growth of the bank business and contribution to the bottom line. 

Particularly addressing all the related value chains covering coffee subsector, grain, dairy, horticulture multipurpose co-operatives, Community Based Organisations, tea, sugarcane mortgage asset/insurance finance and any Agri based business.

Main duties
This challenging opportunity which involve the following:-
    Carry out market intelligence and market research to identify needs of the sector development of responsive products.
    Seek opportunities and provide the sector monthly, quarterly, yearly development and performance report.
    Develop models that increase market access to the Bank.
    Develop suitable agribusiness products, programes, template, checlist and ensure they are operational.
    Seek feedback from RMs and BDOs on their unique market needs and develop products or programs that are suitable and customer centric.
    Develop, ensure approval  and seek to popularise all agricultural products.
    Development of project proposals, business plans and M.O.Us.
    Seek to cross-sell Bank products.
    Work closely with MOCDM and MoA officers in order to maintain a competitive edge in the industry by being ahead of the competition in all Agribusiness ventures.
    Assist in development and constant review of accounts plan with clear wallet sizes and customer profiles.
    Seek to acquire new customers in Agri-business
    Assist in preparation of seminars and workshops.
    Work closely with MOCDM and MoA officers in order to maintain a competitive edge in the industry by being ahead of the competition in all Agribusiness ventures.
    Carry out branch visits as a matter of courtesy to gather intelligence on what the competition is doing in order to remain relevant in the market.
    Train staff on related projects and products.
    Assist in review of internal processes to ensure procedures and processes

Job Specification & Qualification
The incumbent will be required to possess the following attributes:-
    A university degree in a business related field.
    Agricultural related degree will be an added advantage
    3 years Previous experience in successful business development in agricultural sector
    Previous experience in writing reports and business proposals
    Selling and Negotiation Skills
    Credit analysis  Skills
    40 years and below
